Compare the course first
Read the course modules, assessment methods, entry requirements and duration. Check whether the qualification suits your intended career and whether professional recognition matters for your field.
Build a complete budget
Use each institution's current fees and compare accommodation, insurance, transport and everyday costs in the relevant city. Include application expenses, travel and an emergency reserve. Use confirmed funds when assessing affordability.
Review visa and work conditions
Work rules and post-study options vary with eligibility and can change. As checked in September 2026, eligible students in Canada may work off campus for up to 24 hours per week during regular academic sessions. The UK Graduate visa is scheduled to last 18 months for eligible non-doctoral applications made from 1 January 2027, compared with two years for applications made by 31 December 2026. Doctoral graduates have different provisions.
